Parent Support and Skills Program
Raising a high achieving, anxious teen girl can feel confusing and exhausting. She may look capable and successful on the outside while privately overwhelmed by pressure, comparison, and fear of making mistakes. Many parents find themselves walking on eggshells, offering constant reassurance, or trying to reduce stress, yet nothing seems to create lasting change.
The Parent Support and Skills Program is a structured, skills based program designed to help parents understand and respond effectively to perfectionism driven anxiety. Rather than focusing only on symptom relief, this program strengthens the family system so resilience is built at home, not just in therapy sessions.
This program focuses on:
Understanding high functioning anxiety and perfectionism
Learn how rigid thinking patterns, fear of failure, and achievement based identity develop, and why strong performing girls often struggle silently.
Reducing accommodation of anxious behaviors
Identify subtle patterns that unintentionally reinforce anxiety, such as over reassurance, problem solving, or avoidance support, and replace them with responses that build independence.
Responding to emotional dysregulation
Develop practical tools for managing meltdowns, shutdowns, irritability, and academic stress without escalating conflict or reinforcing fear.
Supporting healthy identity development
Encourage autonomy, internal confidence, and values based decision making rather than performance based self worth.
Improving communication in high pressure environments
Shift conversations around grades, expectations, and future planning in ways that reduce anxiety while maintaining healthy standards.
The program can be offered in individual parent sessions or in a small group format with other parents navigating similar challenges. It may run alongside your daughter’s therapy or as a standalone support option when parents want guidance without initiating treatment for their teen.
When parents gain clarity and shift their responses, change often accelerates. Strengthening parental confidence and consistency is one of the most powerful ways to reduce anxiety and support long term emotional resilience.
