A Structured Approach to Perfectionism and Anxiety
Perfectionism is not simply “wanting to do well.” It is rigid thinking, fear of mistakes, and emotional collapse when expectations are not met.
In individual therapy, we work to:
Reduce perfectionism driven anxiety
Build tolerance for mistakes and setbacks
Separate identity from grades, sports, and social status
Decrease people pleasing behaviors
Strengthen emotional regulation
Develop internal confidence rather than chasing external validation
Parents are included strategically to reduce unintentional reinforcement of anxious patterns and to support lasting change at home.
If your daughter is overwhelmed by academic pressure, social comparison, or fear of disappointing others, focused therapy can help her feel steady and secure in who she is.
