Clinical Supervision
Like therapy, supervision is about the relationship. You should feel comfortable enough with your supervisor to share difficulties and vulnerabilities in order to grow clinically.
Be sure your supervisor is approved by the state board of examiners. You should be provided with all of their credentialing information. Ask for references. Just because someone is approved by the state does not mean that they are a competent supervisor. Years in the field, clinical training, populations familiar with and a desire to grow others, all play into their contribution to your learning. Feel free to contact me to chat and see if we're a good fit.
