Teen Girl Therapy for Anxiety and Perfectionism

Denine D. Bruzzo, LCSW

I provide therapy for teen girls struggling with anxiety, stress, confidence and emotional overwhelm. My work focuses on helping girls build coping skills, improve emotional regulation and feel more confident in school, friendships and daily life

How I Help Teen Girls with Anxiety

I help teen girls understand and manage their anxiety by teaching practical, evidence-based skills like cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness, and self-compassion strategies tailored to their daily lives. Together we gently challenge perfectionistic thinking, build confidence, and create personalized tools so they can feel calmer, more capable, and more in control. My approach is warm, collaborative, and focused on helping each girl reconnect with her strengths while reducing the pressure to be “perfect.”

Signs of Anxiety and Perfectionism in Teens

Anxiety in teens often shows up as constant worry about school, friendships, or the future, along with physical symptoms like stomachaches, headaches, or trouble sleeping. Perfectionism can appear as an intense fear of making mistakes, all-or-nothing thinking, procrastination on assignments, or harsh self-criticism even after doing well. Many girls also withdraw from activities they once enjoyed or push themselves to exhaustion trying to meet impossible standards.

What to Expect in Counseling Sessions

In our sessions, your teen can speak freely, without any pressure to perform or say the right thing. We'll work together to understand personal goals and build practical skills that feel useful to her. We'll practice them together, because practicing is what helps the skills really stick and create meaningful change in her life.

Sessions are usually 50–60 minutes long, and we'll regularly check in on her progress so she always knows she's moving forward at a pace that feels right for her.
